Beverly Ann (Hanna) Teal, age 82, formerly of Kinmundy, passed away at 7:10 pm on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at home with family in Pinckneyville after a long battle with diabetes.

Beverly was born in Kinmundy on February 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Paul Gray Hanna and the late Alice Audrey (Telford ) Hanna.

Beverly worked as a telephone operator (1950's), elementary education teacher (Kinmundy, 1960's) and as a homemaker. Over the years she enjoyed baking, canning, making crafts, sewing, crocheting, quilting, reading and spending time with family. Friends and family knew her as a most kind and generous person, often giving to others when she had very little for herself. We will all miss her ever-present smile and loving spirit.

She was a long-time member of Boyd Christian Church in Dix, serving as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She is survived by all four of her children: Tom (Nancy) Minor of Elkton, MD; Donald (Karen) Johnson of Iowa City, IA; Paul Johnson of Foley, MO; and Jennifer (Chuck) Presswood of Pinckneyville. Also surviving are sister Whitney Mahnke of Iuka, her brother John (Linda) Hanna of Kell, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl Teal, and her brother Bob Hanna.

Beverly is now with Jesus and the angels.

Arrangements are entrusted to J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, on Thursday, March 16, 2017. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 pm with a graveside immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy. Officiating will be Nancy Minor.
