Obituary for Allen Duane Tolliver

Allen Duane  Tolliver
Allen Duane Tolliver, age 95 of Louisville, passed away at 4:53 pm, Friday, November 4th, 2016 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Allen was born September 1, 1921, in Louisville, IL, the son of Charles R. and Lucille B. (Blair) Tolliver. On January 5, 1941, he was united in marriage to Ila R. (Wilson) Tolliver, in St. Charles, MO. Together they shared 57 years of marriage and she preceded him in death on November 3, 1998.

He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII. He worked construction as a heavy equipment operator and was also a farmer. His hobbies included trapshooting, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Louisville American Legion #914 for 71 years, also the National Rifle Association, Bible Grove Sportsman Club, Masonic Lodge, Operating Engineers Local 841 and Amateur Trapshooting Association.

Allen leaves to mourn his passing, son Steven (Betty) Tolliver of Louisville; grandson Steven (Nina) Tolliver Jr. of Effingham; great grandson Thor Tolliver of Effingham; great granddaughter Sabrina (J.T.) Medley of St. Louis, MO; great great grandsons Gabriel Tolliver and Jonathan Medley.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant daughter Mary Jan Tolliver, brothers Donald and Albert Dale Tolliver.

Arrangements have been entrusted to J.W. Neal Funeral Home of Louisville, where the family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A celebration of life will be held following the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be accorded along with military rites by the Louisville American Legion. Interment will be held at Toliver Cemetery in Louisville.
