Condolence From: Mark McDermott

Condolence: Daniel, you won't remember me since you were still an infant when I last saw you, but your dad was my best friend in California. Your grandparents and my parents introduced us not long after we both left the military, and we eventually shared an apartment for several years before he married your mom. We lost contact when I left California, but I found him again in 2014, and we talked a lot, which included a great deal of reminiscing. While we both know that my grief over the loss of your dad cannot equal your own, please know that his passing has created a hole inside of me, as I miss him greatly. My own small condolence is that at least I was able to talk to him again before he left us. He was a great friend and it hurts me that he is gone. I am truly sorry for your loss.
