Mary Jane  Britton (Walker)
Mary Jane Britton, age 70, of Clay City, passed away at 10:00 pm, Monday, August 15, 2016 at Good Samartian Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL.

Mary was born October 28, 1945 in Bible Grove, Clay County, IL, the daughter of the late Noble E. and the late Flossie Jane (Pierce) Walker. She married Homer Larry Britton on January 12, 1963 at Old Union Christian Church. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2012.

She was employed by Flora Manor and the Cila Corp. as a supervisor and CNA caregiver. She was a past member of the Old Union Christian Church and loved reading and playing bingo.

Mary is survived by sons Jerry (Gaitha Miller) Britton of Noble, IL, Homer (Amy) Britton of Sailor Springs; daughters Sherry Johnson of Xenia, Carrie (Carroll) Lee of Clay City; brothers, Bill (Jean) Walker of Strasburg, Jake (Arilla) Walker of Louisville; half brother Noble Walker of Clay City; step-brother Steve Phillips of Clay City; sisters, Betty Belleville of Heartville, Kay (Jim) Taylor of Paris, IL, Janet (Charlie) Culver of Strasburg, Ruth Lashebrook of Indiana; sister-in-law, Peggy Groves of Flora; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as a son-in-law Marty Johnson, brother Charles Walker, and brother-in-law Don Belleville.

Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL, where the family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, August 18, 2016. A celebration of life will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 am, Friday, August 19, 2016. Interment will be held at Hoosier Prairie Cemetery in rural Louisville.
